It has nine neighbour countries: Pakistan, China, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Burma (Myanmar), Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
It is the second most populated country (after China) with over 1.2 billion inhabitants. It's the seventh largest country in the world. It is the most vigorous democratic Republic in the world.
The capital city is New Delhi but the biggest town in India is Mumbai (also known as Bombay).
Three major points of interest are:
- The Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the world, made by Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
- The Kerala, one of the most popular tourist destinations in India.
- The Old Delhi, a place with many tourist attractions, like the Majestic Red Fort.
