Bollywood

To start,the word "Bollywood" is a blend of "Bombay" and "Hollywood".It's the name of the Hindi Language film industry based in Bombay.It's a type of films wich generally last 2 or 3 hours.The first Bollywood film was in 1913 and was named "Raja Harishchandra".Now,Bollywood industrie produces more than 1200 films by year !It's the double of the USA with "only" 600 films.

In Bollywood films,actors often sing and dance (when there is an important event in the life of a character,for exemple) like in musical comedies.Generally,the stories are original and varied,but sometimes,Bollywood rewrite Hollywood stories.And,generally,Bollywood films speak about love (generally impossible,too...like Romeo and Juliette) !

In Bollywood films,the music is very important.It's a blend of Indian and Westerner musics.Generally,songs speak about love,like stories.Hindu mythology or Moghol traditions inspire the lyrics.

The dances in the films are inspired by Indian dances like kathak (classical),tawaif or bhangra.But,now there is more and more modern dances like break-dance,hip-hop or salsa.

Lots of Bollywood actors are very famous in India ( Amitabh Bachchan for exemple) but in France they're not because we don't often see Bollywood films,the majority of persons prefers American films (maybe because of the traditions which are the sames).
